What is SHD University?

One of the most amazing opportunities we have is that we can work within this business model at our pace, on our time. This means, that we choose to work around our current priorities. Whether that be God, family, or our current career path or education, our work here will never interfere with the things that are most important to us. However, in order to stay effective and profitable, even as we choose our own workload and schedule, it is of utmost importance that we become independent.

Independent basically means that there's 5 things you know how to do on your own with no assistance: prospect and generate new leads using social media, do a recruiting presentation and on-board a new rep, run a fast start orientation, guide the new recruit thru our licensing process, and run kitchen table presentations (the KT), where we educate families on the importance of investments and life insurance.

Again, in order to be the most effective as possible, we need and want our agents to become independent as soon as possible. We have created a 90 day game plan for new recruits that get licensed with us to become independent, even with no prior experience. We have designed a series of courses that will help you navigate thru the presentations and learn the basics and fundamentals of the slides we use to present. All the courses put together is what we call: SHD University.

You will need to create a login for what we call SHD University, so that way, you can access all the courses. After going to the SHD University Portal, you'll need to sign up as a NEW USER. Enter your full name, email, and create a password so that you can continuously log back in to access your courses.

The online portal will allow you to continue to log back in to access your courses as many times as you need.

COMPLETED CLASS
You will have access to pre-recorded study sessions that will help you really prep for the state exam.


PASSED EXAM
Once you pass your exam, you'll be able to access courses to help you become independent in 90 days. Specifically with the following:

  • Social Media Basics

  • The Recruiting Presentation

  • The KT Presentation

  • The Fast Start Orientation

INDEPENDENT
Once you have been trained and are independent, you'll be able to access on demand videos to help you with a variety of topics, including overcoming objections, the mentals, and more!a Paragraph Font

Prospecting

One of the things we love about our business so much is that our system doesn't require us to purchase leads. We use the term PROSPECTING to describe the act of finding leads of potential business partners. In our system, we find leads 1 of 3 ways: cold prospecting, social media, or referrals.

COLD PROSPECTING

Cold prospecting is the act of approaching a complete stranger as you're out and about, and approach them with the opportunity. An example is if you're at a gas station and you see someone next to you pumping gas, you would approach them and ask them if they're open to making extra income.

When it comes to cold prospecting, you can passively prospect, or you can actively prospect. Passively prospecting would be to ask people as you go about your day and you happen to run into people that you feel would be a great fit. Active prospecting is where you schedule out a time during your day to actively go seek people to meet to approach with the opportunity.

When you decide to start cold prospecting, you want to setup a routine and a daily goal. For example, you can choose to go to your local mall, Walmart, Target, Sams Club or Costco, from 12pm-2pm, and talk to 10 people, or 15 or 20.

You can also have a goal in mind. For example you might say, "Im going to get 3 numbers every day this week except for Sunday." Or 5 numbers, or 10. It's all 100% up to you.The most important part is the consistency.

Recruiting

The core of our business model is RECRUITING. We refer to recruiting as, "the life blood of our business." Recruiting gives others the opportunity to have the same chance we have at completing changing our lives. At SHD, we believe that recruiting, IS THE OVERFLOW OF GRATITUDE, for having been recruited.

You want to get really good at recruiting because as long as you can recruit, you will never run out of clients. Also, there's the possibility that these recruits get licensed, and if they're self-motivated, they become a source of passive income for you, as long as they remain on your team producing.

The KT Presentation

KT Stands for "Kitchen Table." Just a quick backstory as to why this presentations is called a KT! Before using zoom, all appointments used to be in person. Anytime we recruited someone and got a 25 list from them, we would book the appointment to run the presentation in person at the potential client's house. As we were greeted at the door, the homeowner would typically invite the agent to sit down in the living room. However, to make things easier when presenting, the agent would ask the potential client if they could sit at, THE KITCHEN TABLE, to facilitate the training process. At that point, they would head over to the KITCHEN TABLE, and it was there that the agent would educate the client on the importance of investing for retirement and life insurance.

Although we rarely actually sit at a client's physical kitchen table, we still use the term, "KT," to refer to a presentation will give a potential client for either life insurance, investments, auto & home, or a recruit.
